Banner is a port of the Unix and Linux command-line tool with the same name. It displays the text provided in the argument in ASCII art. It currently displays capital letters, numbers, periods and dashes, but I will be adding some more characters later on. It can also display the text in italic. The source code and the executable work in .NET Framework 2.0 and later as well as Mono 2.0 or later without modification. This makes the application run in Ms Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

To run banner in Linux using Mono, extract the contents of the runtime zip file and enter the following command:

mono banner.exe

Download banner from SourceForge

  3. Thank you Rakesh for the interest. I was busy the past 2 month moving the programming posts to codhill.com, so amgadhs.com could be about Macs and Windows only. I promise I will get back to my normal posting schedule from the first of next month. But please check out codehill.com I’ve been posting regularly there. Thanks again

  6. I do a lot of research online on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks
